PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION
COILS, ELECTRICAL, FIXED AND VARIABLE, RADIO FREQUENCY
GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers the general requirements for radio frequency coils, fixed and variable, for use
as simple inductive elements in radio frequency circuits. Procurement of coils of a specific design will require additional
data in the form of complementary Service documents, giving detail electrical and mechanical requirements,
tolerances, and applicable additions and exceptions to the general requirements and tests specified herein (see 3.1).
1.2 Classification.
1.2.1 Type designation. The type designation will be in the following form and as specified (see 3.1 and 6.2).

1.2.1.1 Style. The style is identified by the two-letter symbol "LT" followed by a one or two digit number. The
letters identify radio frequency coils; the number identifies the grade and class in accordance with table I, 1.2.1.1.1,
and 1.2.1.1.2.
